Description
This active branch in central Palm Beach
County serves a diverse section of the county's population. The
Greenacres Library responds to the needs and interests of the
community by offering information in print and electronic form and
through the monthly scheduling of educational adult and juvenile
programs.
A friendly, knowledgeable staff is trained to provide our patrons
with daily service and assistance in the areas of quick reference,
in-depth research and recreational reading selection, to name but a
few. In addition to a wide range of up-to-date print resources, the
library has a growing number of electronic databases for patrons to
access, including a national phone directory, health and business
databases as well as full-text magazine and newspaper databases.
Free Internet access, quiet study rooms, DVDs, compact discs,
books-on-CD, downloadable audiobooks and Spanish language material
are just some of the features and services available at the library.
A large collection of fiction and non-fiction material is available
in our Youth Services area and includes audiokits, paperback series,
magazines and a computer equipped with educational games for those
who want to test their knowledge and skills. Fun-filled, themed
story hours scheduled throughout the year make use of puppets,
films, flannel-boards and music. Holiday craft programs and special educational programs round out the activities at
Greenacres to provide our younger patrons with a varied calendar of
events.
