Description

The South Bay Branch (Clarence E. Anthony Branch) serves a large number of children providing them with programs and educational and recreational reading. For its diverse populations there are growing collections of African American and Spanish materials to meet their needs.

They currently have access to hundreds of periodicals through IAC, a service that provides citations and text to thousands of articles for the personal and educational use of patrons.

Patrons have full access to the Internet.  The Gates Foundation gave the branch three computers in 2000.  Children have access to games as well as to Encarta Encyclopedia and Encarta Africana Encyclopedia.  In addition, the branch provides computers for word processing.  The branch now has a computer to help adults learn to read.

Tutors and students, and some students on their own, may use the programs to reach their reading goals.  If you are interested in helping teach someone to read or know some one who needs help learning to read, call the branch.  The library meeting room can accommodate 25 people.

Meeting Room Information

A meeting room is available for groups up to 25. Library sponsored functions have priority in the use of this room. It may be booked only for times when the library is open to the public.
