Description
The library circulates a large number of
popular fiction, browsing paperbacks and audio-books to the
residents of Delray Beach.
The library
houses the largest Yiddish and Holocaust collections within the Palm
Beach County Library System.
West Atlantic offers a wide variety of
free Adult Programs, including guest speakers on such topics as
health, finance, and the law, as well as offering feature films
every month. There is an extensive out of town
telephone book collection - 140 in all. The reference department
provides service to patrons who need assistance in locating
information on varied topics, ranging from medicine to business.
Want to surf the World Wide Web? The library has full Internet
access. The service is free to the community and the staff is
trained to assist patrons.
A meeting room, with a seating capacity
of 125, is available to local organizations. 18 people can fit into
our conference room. The children's department offers story times
and special programs to children of all ages.
History of the Branch
- Opened: As Del Trail Branch in
January 1978 (1,855 sq. ft.)
- Expanded: September 1982 (11,500
sq. ft.). Renamed West Atlantic Avenue Branch. Building was
donated to the Library System by the developers of Villages of
Oriole.
- Expanded: December 1994 a 5,000
sq.ft. building was built adjacent to the existing facility. It
has a meeting room and staff area. The original building was
renovated & expanded for the library's collection.

Information
The branch has a
large meeting room that can seat 125 people. A smaller
conference room is also available that can seat 18 people.

East to Delray Beach, west to the L-40
Canal, north to Golf Road, and south to Clint Moore Road. Includes
major developments of King's Point, Gleneagles, Las Verdes, Lakes of
Delray, Palm Greens, and Lexington Club.
