The Palm Beach County Library System is proud to honor Haitian culture, literature, history and language during Haitian Heritage Month in May, a month that incorporates the important holiday of Haitian Flag Day on May 18. Visit the newly-renovated Lantana Road Branch and enjoy their Haitian Cultural Collection. This collection highlights Haiti’s history and culture and includes adult and juvenile books in Haitian Creole, French and English.

Sat, May 21, 9:30 am. Families will learn about birds, the environment and their protectors through an exciting story followed by a birding adventure lead by the Audubon Society of the Everglades. Binoculars are encouraged but not required. Water, hat and sunscreen encouraged. Writers LIVE!, our flagship author event series, returns for another season of bringing the community together with authors and their books. The 2022 line-up of bestselling, critically acclaimed, and award-winning authors will be discussing their work in a combination of in-person and virtual events.

Basics4Babies Emergency Pantry Van
Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition of Palm Beach County will bring their Basics4Babies Emergency Pantry for Infants van to the Main Library on Monday, February 28, March 28, April 25, May 23, June 27 and July 25. The emergency pantry provides free diapers, wipes and basic baby needs to families residing in Palm Beach County who demonstrate need.

SNAP Outreach
The Library will once again be partnering with the Palm Beach County Food Bank to offer assistance with SNAP benefits. Benefits specialists from the PBC Food Bank will assist with the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) application process and conduct the food stamp interview.
