These videos are movies which have been adapted for
the enjoyment of individuals who are blind or visually impaired.
Throughout each video, a narrator carefully describes the visual
elements of the movie--the action, characters, locations, costumes,
and sets--without interfering with dialog or sound effects, so that
you can follow all the action. The videos can be operated on a
standard videocassette player and a regular television set, and no
special feature or device is needed.
Described videos for the visually impaired are now
offered at the following libraries: Main Library, Greenacres Branch,
North County Regional Library, Okeechobee Boulevard Branch, Jupiter
Branch, Wellington Branch, Royal Palm Beach Branch, West Boynton
Branch, West Atlantic Branch and Southwest County Regional Library.
The loan period for described video cassettes is 7
days, and the fine for overdue videos is 10 cents per day. Adults may
charge out up to 10 video cassettes. Reserves may be placed for
described videos owned by your library. |
