Ever wonder what it’s like to be an artist? Starting in January, the Jupiter Branch Library will be holding a lecture series featuring local artists and their works. In this unique opportunity, the audience will have the chance to view the artists’ work, hear how they got started and take a glimpse into their daily life in the profession.

In the first installment of our series, Helen Otterson, award winning ceramicist and Director of Ceramics at the Armory Art Center, will share her passion for ceramics and her belief that art does not have to be intimidating. (60 min. Preregister).
ARTIST STATEMENT
My focus on biomorphic forms stems from my interest in the human encounter with disease. Personal experience and microscopic slides of human tissue influenced my work. Creating textured form, I reference organic growths that explore the relationship between health and disease.
